Content:

The course will cover cellular and molecular approaches to characterization of the human genome.

1) HUMAN GENE MAPS (3 hours)
introduction, progress, methodologies

2) NUCLEAR GENOME (12 hours)
genetic and physical mapping
positional cloning
haplotype maps
genetics of complex traits
gene expression analysis
association analysis

3) MOUSE MAPPING &GENETICS AS TOOLS IN STUDYING HUMAN GENOME (9 hours)

4) GENE REGULATION (splicing, TF detection, allelic imbalance) (9 hours)

Readings: Selected journal articles.

Method: 3 hours lectures.

Evaluation: Mid-term and final exam.
