Application
Application to the graduate program in Biology must be submitted using the McGill online application form. Please refer to section below for details on Web application.
Deadlines
Please note the departmental deadlines for applications to the graduate program.
International students:
- January 15th for September registration
- August 15th for January registration
Canadian residents and citizens:
- March 15th for September registration
- October 15th for January registration
Application for Summer: No Summer admission.
If
application materials are received after these dates, it may be necessary
to delay review of the applicant’s file until the following admittance
period. All inquiries pertaining to admission procedures should be
directed to the Graduate Admissions Coordinator.
Applicants who wish to apply for the Tomlinson
Fellowship (see section on Fees and Financial Support) must apply by January 6th.
Applications received by February 1st will be automatically considered for a number of McGill-administered fellowships.

After applying online the candidate must follow up the application by sending the supporting documents to the Graduate Admissions Coordinator (See address below)

Application fees are non-refundable
Application Fee
Please submit the fee ($100.00 CDN) with your application form. This fee is imposed by the university administration, not by the individual departments. It is often difficult for applicants from some countries to obtain the necessary currency, and many write to ask that these fees be waived and only paid after acceptance. Unfortunately, the university administration will not accept applications without this fee and thus we are unable to forward any applications submitted without it.
