Required
Duties: - Meets with professors and lab coordinator before the beginning and at
end of term. -
Updates the course¹s site
information as required, on myCourses, before
the first day of the fall semester in September 2012. -
Accountable for the
professional, safe and confidential use of the Grade Book in myCourses. -
Assist professors with the use of Student
Response Systems (SRS or clickers), associated program (Turning Point) and any related duties. -
Compiles and finalizes the clicker marks on myCourses¹ Grade Book for all students and all lectures regularly
(at least once every two weeks) and finalizes grades before deadline set by
lab coordinator. -
Proof-reads midterm and final exams and assists with formatting exams -
Meets with students to discuss challenges to exam questions and
conducts exam viewing sessions. -
Assists students with technical issues relating to clickers and myCourses. -
Attends lectures and answers student questions regarding the course material
during via the discussion board on myCourses
(WebCT) or email on a daily basis. -
Identifies and documents opportunities for the creation of ³Lab Link
Slides² during all lectures (intended for future use by lecturers). -
Conducts recorded review sessions before the lecture exams. - Invigilates the
midterm lecture exam in the evening. - Any other related
duties, as assigned. |

Qualifications
Required: - Preferably has taken Biol
111. Background in general biology (animals and plants). - Must have good
organization and communication skills - Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (base program for Turning
Point) - Availability in the summer 2012 to follow the trainings
required for this position, including
clicker use and the clicker mark
compilation in myCourses¹ grade book, before the first lecture on the first week in September 2012. - Preference given to
someone who has been a Lab TA in the past for the course. - Preference given to someone who also has teaching assistant lab slot |
