McGill   University Phytotron

The McGill University Phytotron was designed and built during the period 1985-87 as a centre for research in experimental plant biology.

It was officially opened in March 1988.  The facility brings together a combination of growth chambers and greenhouse compartments to provide a diverse array of environments for the growth of experimental plants and organisms.

The design in both zones emphasizes precise control of environmental factors influencing growth of plants and organisms and the ability to reliably replicate all experimental trials.

The Phytotron occupies the two top floors of the south block of the Stewart Biological Sciences Building and has direct access to all Biology Department laboratories and support facilities.
