What do I provide? |
|
Flat bottom 96-well plate(s) with 5 flies/well
AND
at least 20mL/plate of Buffer A (100mM TrisHCl, pH 7.6; 100 mM NaCl; 100 mM EDTA, 0.5% SDS)
|
|
How do I submit samples? |
Coordinate with Guillaume Lesage (514-398-5414)
or Ming Wang (514-398-2518 or 5669)
or email at cian@mcgill.ca |
When do I submit samples? |
Any day before 1:30PM |
When can I pick up collection plates? |
Same day at 4:00PM |
What do I get? |
Sealed 96-well plate(s) containing 100µL/well of genomic DNA resuspended in TE |
What are the expected results? |
Yields may vary among strains. In our setup experiments, we obtained 1-2µg DNA, the quality of which was suitable for PCR. |
Which method is used? |
Alkali lysis procedure followed by isopropanol precipitation.
Adapted from Parks et al, 2004, Nature Genet. 36:288-92 |
Any quality control? |
To reduce variability and ensure quality, we use commercial solutions and buffers. In addition, a control is included for each batch of preparation, ensuring quality control |
I don’t have 96 samples… Can I use the service? |
Yes. Partial plate can be run at the cost of a full plate
